Selective focus on the phrase “due process”. Many more word photos in my portfolio._edited

Update: September 2024

At the summer gathering ACNA leaders passed the amendments referred to in the May update below (see link in post), which is a positive step forward toward future fairness. In the future, pastors will have some measure of  protection from the damage done to the Greener family by Bishop Todd Hunter and Church of the Redeemer, Highwood, leadership. But what about those lives destroyed before these protections were  put in place? True justice is making past wrongs right whenever possible. People are waiting and watching both ACNA and C4SO leadership for actions for victims and accused that demonstrate integrity, transparency, humility, and justice.

Update: May 2024

ACNA is currently attempting to address gaps and concerns about reports of misconduct. Reading through the pdf (the link to the relevant article and embedded pdf link is found at the end of this paragraph), the reader familiar with this case will quickly determine that the proposed amendments would result in a fairer and more compassionate process and that each could be written in response to the injurious missteps taken by Bishop Todd Hunter and the leadership of Church of the Redeemer. Although one can be grateful that ACNA appears to be coming to its senses, no one has reached out to those grievously harmed by ACNA's past actions. If the resolutions pass and are deemed ethical and reasonable, it seems that an acknowledgement of past harm, both to victims and to the accused is merited and necessary for biblical justice. Update, March 2023

The loophole in the C4SO Whistleblower Policy (see Open Letter)  allowing an anonymous complainant to take over the church has come to pass. The whistleblower in the Redeemer case was immediately named by Bishop Hunter as the leader of the church during the months of  'investigation' and has now been formally approved to be the permanent rector.

No Due Process in C4SO

An Open Letter to C4SO & Bishop Hunter

The purpose of this open letter is to demonstrate that the policy, process, implementation, investigation, report, and decision to distribute allegations publicly regarding the Reverend Canon Jay L. Greener were fatally flawed and ethically suspect, disrespecting Anglican Canon Law, due process, and basic fairness.
